I never thought I could feel,
The way I have
For a time so long
That I could not tell you when it began.
There were times when I was so elated,
That I would laugh,
For hours on end
Without any reason what-so-ever.
Smiling was something I once cherished,
But lately in my life
It's been taken for granted
For I've forgotten what it's like not to smile.
I have known a love so deep,
That my past
Was forgotten
And my future looked brighter than I ever thought it would.
It's not a pleasant feeling
To say "goodbye"
When you don't know
If you'll ever be saying "hello" ever again.
A single tear was shed
From the pain
Of a parting
Which I wish would never have happened.
But that single tear
Quickly turned
Into one
For each kiss we kissed and laugh we shared
I have known a love so deep
That I couldn't
Figure out
What I wanted with life anymore
Why must this happen?
I never meant
To feel
So happy one second, and so lost the next
I used to feel nearly immortal
Nothing could
Ever get me down,
Yet now, I don't think I could get lower.
An endless stream of tears
Fall from my eyes,
Quicker than
The greatest waterfall anybody's ever seen.
I have known a love so deep
That I've been forced
To my knees,
Uncontrollably weeping myself to sleep.
I see the face so very often
Everywhere,
When I close my eyes,
And when I dream, I only dream of her.
I feel her hand in mine,
Her lips
Pressed on mine,
And her voice echoes in my ears.
I just refuse to admit
That now
I will be
Alone for a longer time than I would want.

That I am
Forced to question
The quality of my own sanity.
Now I look ahead
To try

When I will be with my love again.
Will it be soon,
Or far?
Whenever it is
Time will crawl by endlessly.

Forever and ever, never to have her leave my side.
